What does NFTnomics mean?

NFT is a new type of digital asset that has become one of the most exciting topics in the blockchain community. It is so popular at the moment that even Saturday Night Live made a sketch explaining NFTs, and it is currently the centerpiece of most content for blockchain dedocated creators on YouTube.

NFT is a non-fungible token: a unit of data stored on a blockchain that certifies a digital asset to be unique.

While the global community started to discover the importance of NFTs as the concept of true digital ownership for authentic, non-replicable digital artwork with completely transparent ownership, we aim to extend that value by doing something fun with NFTs, besides just owning them.

Video gaming is already a booming billion-dollar industry and it is expectedto rise enormously in the following decade. The boundaries between gaming as leisure and profit-making activity have already become blurred, but looking to what the NFT gaming space has to offer, we are not very happy with the results so far.

Rookiez is the first decentralized blockchain-based motorcycle racing platform that joins racing enthusiasts in a community where you train your NFT riders, mint new NFT motorcycles based on your research, and scout new NFT riders who can become future champions. However, Rookiez is not meant to be a play-to-earn game: we don't like the direction that many self-proclaimed "play-to-earn" games are going, simply because the first goal for any game should be for the players to have fun.

In our vision players own their assets, and they can decide what to do with them. If a player trains a brilliant rider for years and (after all of this effort) decides to sell it for profit, it’s not our business. We just want to make sure that players have an enjoyable experience with a first-class management game.

NFTnomics

There is no token for Rookiez, but still, we want the game to be owned as much as possible by its players and community. To achieve this and to transition our project to a DAO, we will implement a governance system based on the number and the "weight" of owned Rookiez FTs and NFTs: for example, each trophy won contributes to the voting power more than the regular NFTs that can be minted from the portal.

Examples of NFTs: are riders, motorcycles, staff members, trophies, and teams.
Examples of FTs: are circuit licenses, decals, etc.

Any Rookiez NFT can be sold in any Cardano NFT marketplace. The owner has complete control of their NFTs. Scouting new riders or specialists (up to one per epoch) requires minting from the portal, while all the NFTs minted due to in-game activities will be sent free of charge to the player’s wallet.
